ABOUT

1. MOLS-Style Concrete Homes

MOLS: The Ultimate in Concrete Technology

Reinforced concrete provides the ultimate protection for your family’s lives and property against natural disasters. Tomisaka Construction has been a leader in public infrastructure projects—including medical, welfare, and educational facilities—since 1951. MOLS was born from our desire to bring over 70 years of expertise in reinforced concrete construction to private residences through our integrated design-build system.

Superior Quality Through Integrated Design and Construction

While reinforced concrete structures are renowned for their durability, earthquake resistance, and fire protection, these benefits depend entirely on the quality of execution. MOLS achieves exceptional quality through the seamless integration of design and construction expertise. Our concrete structures, protected by special coating treatments, offer virtually permanent durability with regular maintenance. At MOLS, we deliver not just striking design, but true peace of mind.

2. Flexible Spaces

Versatile, Open-Concept Living

With MOLS, once the column placement is set, walls can be positioned freely, allowing for highly customizable layouts. Using the same reinforced concrete rigid-frame structure (Note 1) as high-rise buildings, MOLS creates spacious, open environments. This flexibility extends beyond floor plans to enable creative three-dimensional spaces, offering dynamic living environments. Large openings blend indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly, allowing you to experience nature in its purest form.

Note 1: A structural system where horizontal forces (such as seismic activity and wind pressure) are supported solely by columns and beams. The joints between structural members are rigidly connected to resist deformation.

3. Robust Protection

50-Centimeter Square Columns and Precise Structural Engineering

Each MOLS home undergoes detailed structural calculations from the initial design phase to ensure absolute safety. Our MOLS Heisei model home demonstrated this strength when it emerged from the Kumamoto Earthquake completely undamaged, requiring no repairs or reinforcements. Because reinforced concrete is four times heavier than wooden construction, we conduct thorough soil boring surveys to determine the optimal foundation for each home.

Fire-Resistant Material: Concrete

MOLS, with its columns, beams, exterior walls, roof, and floors made of reinforced concrete, is designed to the highest fire-resistance standards under the Building Standards Act. While wood is highly flammable and steel loses half its strength at 500°C, the reinforcing steel encased in concrete heats up more slowly, making MOLS exceptionally fire-resistant.

Proven Wind Resistance

MOLS is four times heavier than wooden structure per unit area. With its columns, walls, and roof forming a unified structure, it stands strong against earthquakes and typhoon-force winds. Typhoon Krosa (Typhoon No. 19, 2007), which caused severe damage across Kyushu, not a single MOLS-built home suffered any damage—further proving the exceptional strength of Tomisaka Construction’s design.

4. High Airtightness and Superior Insulation

A comfortable living environment where natural light and fresh air flow effortlessly.

A carefully designed 24-hour ventilation system ensures that stale air and excess moisture are efficiently expelled from the highly airtight space. The entire structure—roof, interior walls, and even the smallest gaps—is fully insulated with high-performance materials, keeping the home cool in summer and warm in winter. Additionally, large openings for natural light and bold atriums have been strategically incorporated, creating a bright, airy, and comfortable space that adapts beautifully to all four seasons.
